This is a technical position focused on improving plant efficiency, availability, reliability and operational risk through performance engineering, reliability engineering, condition monitoring and data analysis.The Performance Engineer will work closely with plant operations, maintenance teams, technical specialists and third-party engineering partners to identify performance issues, analyse operating data and support practical recommendations that improve plant output, heat rate, outage planning and lifecycle asset management.Performance Engineer / Reliability Engineer / Plant Performance Engineer Benefits:$130,000 - $150,000 salaryOffice and industrial plant-based working environmentThree days per week in the office when not travelling to plant sitesTechnical responsibility across power-generation performance, reliability and optimisationApproximately 35% to 40% travel to plants, vendors and project locationsThe Performance Engineer / Reliability Engineer / Plant Performance Engineer Role:Monitor plant performance, reliability, availability and operational risk across a combined-cycle power-generation fleet.Track, coordinate and report outage schedules, plant incidents and performance metrics.Develop dashboards, reporting tools and plant health checks using operating data and analytical platforms.Support root cause analysis and technical investigations into performance issues and equipment failures.Analyse plant data using GADS, OSI PI, EtaPRO, Power BI, Tableau, Python or similar tools.Identify opportunities to improve heat rate, plant efficiency, capacity factor, startup reliability and operational flexibility.Support design basis control, equipment equivalency reviews and technical modifications with plant and engineering teams.Coordinate technical deliverables, RFP processes, bid evaluations, project schedules, budgets, risk registers and third-party engineering support.Performance Engineer / Reliability Engineer / Plant Performance Engineer Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.Three to seven years’ experience in power generation, industrial facilities or engineering services.Experience supporting performance engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, plant optimisation or asset management functions.Understanding of power plant or industrial plant processes, equipment and operational relationships.Ability to use, administer or quickly learn GADS, OSI PI, EtaPRO and related industry data collection tools.Strong analytical skills with experience using Power BI, Tableau, Python, Visual Basic or similar tools beneficial.Knowledge of root cause analysis and the ability to produce clear technical reports.Ability to communicate effectively with plant teams, internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors and technical partners.Desirable Experience:Thermal performance analysis of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs or balance-of-plant systems.Predictive maintenance technologies, condition monitoring systems, reliability analysis and performance data analytics.Experience supporting outage planning, plant optimisation, lifecycle asset management or engineering project coordination.
