About Christian Theater Arts ProjectChristian Theater Arts Project (CTAP) is a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to shining the light of Christ by cultivating skills and character on and off the stage. Our instructors create an environment where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.About the PositionCTAP is seeking passionate, energetic, and talented Performing Arts Teachers to join our Academy instructional team! We're looking for educators who love working with young people, bring enthusiasm and creativity into the classroom, and are committed to developing both artistic excellence and strong character.Our Academy offers two primary instructional pathways:Elementary Musical Theater (Grades 1–5)Our elementary program introduces students to the exciting world of musical theater through an integrated curriculum combining acting, singing, and dancing. Teachers lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that develop foundational performance skills while encouraging creativity, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the performing arts.Middle School & High School Performing Arts (Grades 6–12)Our middle and high school programs offer specialized instruction in three distinct disciplines:Acting: Character development, acting techniques, improvisation, scene study, and ensemble performance.Voice: Vocal technique, musical literacy and expression, healthy singing practices, and performance skills.Dance: Dance technique, musical theater choreography, movement, and performance.Courses are organized into progressive skill levels, allowing students to develop their abilities through structured instruction and measurable learning objectives.Teachers may specialize in one discipline or teach across multiple areas depending on their experience and qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging, high-energy, age-appropriate performing arts instruction aligned with CTAP Academy curriculum and learning objectives.Create a positive, joyful, and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged.Develop and implement organized weekly lesson plans that balance skill development, creativity, and fun.Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and help students grow in both artistic ability and personal character.Prepare students for end-of-semester showcases that celebrate their growth and accomplishments.Demonstrate strong classroom leadership, maintaining an environment of mutual respect, encouragement, and appropriate discipline.Communicate professionally with students, families, and CTAP leadership.Collaborate with fellow instructors and Academy leadership to maintain consistent educational standards.Model professionalism, integrity, compassion, and Christ-like character in interactions with students, families, and colleagues.Follow CTAP's established safety policies, instructional expectations, and administrative procedures.QualificationsRequired QualificationsDemonstrated proficiency in acting, voice, dance, musical theater, or a related performing arts discipline.Experience teaching, coaching, directing, or mentoring children and/or teenagers.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Ability to develop engaging lessons that accommodate different ages, abilities, and learning styles.A positive, enthusiastic teaching style with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.Commitment to CTAP's Christian mission, organizational values, and student-centered educational philosophy.Dependability, professionalism, and a collaborative attitude.Ability to work on-site in Murrieta, California, during scheduled morning, afternoon or evening classes.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Theater, Musical Theater, Dance, Music, Education, or a related field.Professional performing arts experience or substantial theatrical training.Experience teaching musical theater or specialized acting, voice, or dance courses.Experience developing curriculum, assessing student progress, or directing student showcases.Familiarity with Christian arts education or faith-based youth programs.Schedule, Compensation & Employment DetailsCTAP Academy operates on a semester-based schedule, with fall and spring semesters consisting of approximately 15 weeks each.Classes typically meet once per week during afternoon or evening hours.Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal

Location: Murrieta, CA (On-site)Compensation: $20–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualificationsSchedule: Afternoon and evening classes, with assignments based on program needs and instructor availability.Opportunities to teach multiple classes or return for additional semesters may be available.Employment is contingent upon completion of applicable background checks and required youth safety procedures.Why Teach at CTAP?At CTAP, teaching is about more than developing great performers.
