About the JobRole DescriptionA Pet Nutrition Advisor provides general nutrition guidance and product recommendations to pet owners based on the nutritional needs, lifestyle, age, breed, size, and dietary preferences of their pets. The role involves educating customers about pet food and nutrition products, assisting with product selection, maintaining product knowledge, and coordinating with veterinary and retail teams when appropriate.The position is suitable for candidates with experience in pet care, animal nutrition, veterinary support, pet retail, animal science, or related fields. Previous experience in pet nutrition or companion-animal services is an advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide customers with general information about pet nutrition and feeding practices.Assist pet owners in selecting suitable food, treats, supplements, and related nutrition products.Assess basic pet lifestyle information such as age, breed, size, activity level, and general dietary preferences to support product recommendations.Explain product ingredients, nutritional features, feeding instructions, storage requirements, and product benefits.Educate customers about appropriate portion sizes and feeding schedules based on manufacturer guidelines.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pet food products, ingredients, nutritional standards, and industry developments.Research new pet nutrition products, brands, ingredients, and market trends.Recommend products based on customer requirements, pet preferences, and established product guidelines.Clearly explain the difference between various pet food categories, formulas, textures, and life-stage products.Assist customers with transitioning between pet food products according to appropriate manufacturer guidance.Refer pets with suspected medical, nutritional, or health-related conditions to qualified veterinarians or appropriate animal-health professionals.Avoid providing veterinary diagnoses or medical treatment recommendations outside the permitted professional scope.Maintain professional communication with pet owners and respond to nutrition-related questions.Support veterinary clinics, pet stores, grooming facilities, shelters, breeders, or other assigned business partners when applicable.Assist with product demonstrations, educational sessions, promotional events, and customer consultations.Prepare product information, educational materials, feeding guides, and promotional resources.Maintain accurate records of customer inquiries, product recommendations, and follow-up activities where required.Monitor product inventory and communicate shortages, damaged products, expired products, or storage concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Check product labels, packaging, expiry dates, batch information, and storage conditions.Ensure pet food and nutrition products are stored according to manufacturer requirements.Assist with receiving, organizing, and displaying pet nutrition products.Coordinate with suppliers and distributors regarding product availability, specifications, deliveries, and product information.Support product launches, promotional campaigns, sampling activities, and educational programs.Collect customer feedback regarding pet food products and communicate relevant information to management.Monitor customer preferences and common nutrition-related questions to help improve product education.Maintain professional relationships with customers, veterinarians, suppliers, retailers, and internal teams.Handle customer information responsibly and maintain confidentiality where required.Follow company procedures, product-handling standards, animal welfare principles, and applicable UAE requirements.Perform other pet nutrition, customer service, product support, and educational duties as assigned.RequirementsDiploma or bachelor's degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Biology, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.Previous experience in pet nutrition, veterinary support, pet retail, animal care, animal food, or related industries is an advantage.Strong interest and knowledge of companion-animal nutrition.Understanding of basic nutritional requirements for dogs, cats, and other common companion animals.Familiarity with pet food ingredients, feeding guidelines, life-stage nutrition, and product categories.Ability to interpret basic pet food labels and nutritional information.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to explain nutritional information in a simple and understandable manner.Strong listening and interpersonal abilities.Good attention to detail when reviewing product information and feeding guidelines.Strong product research and learning abilities.Ability to maintain current knowledge of pet nutrition products and industry developments.Professional, caring, and responsible approach to working with pet owners.Ability to recognize situations that require referral to a veterinarian or qualified animal-health professional.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to manage multiple customer inquiries and product-related tasks.Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.Experience with retail, CRM, inventory, or product-management systems is an advantage.Ability to work effectively with veterinary, retail, sales, and animal-care teams.Professional appearance and customer-focused approach.Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, according to business requirements.Fluency in English is preferred;
