We're a sixth-generation, family-owned independent pharmacy looking for an experienced community pharmacist to lead our pharmacy as the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist-in-Charge.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys retail pharmacy and working with patients, but wants more autonomy than a large chain environment typically allows.You'll work directly with Oswald's sixth-generation owner and an experienced pharmacy team. We're looking for someone who can confidently run the day-to-day pharmacy operation, lead and develop our staff, improve workflow and help determine where our pharmacy goes next. We don't want someone to simply maintain the pharmacy. If there's an area of pharmacy you're passionate about, we want to hear about it!This position offers significant freedom for a motivated pharmacist to identify opportunities, develop programs, improve operations and create better ways to serve our patients.What You'll Do· Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and oversee the daily operation of the pharmacy.· Lead, support and develop our pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy staff.· Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal pharmacy regulations, controlled-substance requirements, HIPAA and pharmacy policies.· Maintain safe, accurate and efficient prescription workflow.· Counsel patients and build long-term patient relationships.· Oversee pharmacy inventory, purchasing, medication storage and expiration management.· Lead our vaccination and other clinical pharmacy programs.· Work with ownership to identify opportunities to grow prescription volume and pharmacy services.· Develop new patient-care programs and services that make sense for our community.· Help recruit, train and retain an excellent pharmacy team.· Continually look for ways to improve workflow, efficiency and the patient experience.Who We're Looking ForWe're specifically looking for an experienced retail or community pharmacist who already understands the realities of working in a busy pharmacy and enjoys the work. The right person will be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, leading a team and taking ownership without waiting for a corporate office to tell them what to do.Required:· Active Illinois pharmacist license in good standing.· At least 3 years of community or retail pharmacy experience.· Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, workflow, inventory, compliance and patient counseling.· Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.· Ability to make sound decisions independently.· Genuine interest in providing excellent patient care.Preferred:· Previous Pharmacy Manager, PIC, staff-leadership or supervisory experience.· Immunization experience/certification.· Experience implementing or growing pharmacy services.· PioneerRx experience is a plus, but not required.Why Oswald's?Oswald's isn't trying to recreate a chain pharmacy on a smaller scale.
