Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Functions:Accurately fills medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.Assures all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.Responds appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests and ADC stock out bulletins. Accurately stock ADCs in a timely manner.Prepackages and labels oral medications and extemporaneous preparations.Prepares IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products accurately consistent with IV policies and procedures. Restocks medications in IV room and conforms to IV cleaning scheduleInterprets medication labels to compounds, prepares and maintains records of transactions. Prepares outpatient prescriptions for review by pharmacist Prepares unit dose tablets capsules and liquids, and surgical drugs and other specialty drug trays Assists the pharmacist with the dispensing of controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medicationsQualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent; accredited training in sterile products preparation.PREFERRED EDUCATION: NAMINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Pharmacy experiencePREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years hospital experienceREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License ; Pharmacy Technician Certification (depending on state regulations) required.PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NAREQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NAOrganization DescriptionResolute Baptist Hospital offers a full range of comprehensive healthcare, including emergency services, cardiology and cardiovascular care, orthopedics, primary care, rehabilitation services, Womens Health, Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics, Neonatal and the areas only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
