Pharmacy TechnicianThe Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately processing and entering prescription and medication orders into the pharmacy system to support safe, timely dispensing and accurate billing. This role works closely with pharmacists and prescribers while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with pharmacy regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesEnter and process new prescription and medication orders in pharmacy software systemsReview prescriptions for completeness and identify missing or unclear informationContact prescribers’ offices as needed to obtain clarification or additional informationProcess and resolve insurance and billing informationEnter and maintain prescription, purchase order, stock order, requisition, and disbursement recordsAssist with medication and supply requisitions under pharmacist guidanceRoute completed prescription entries to the pharmacist for final verificationDocument interventions, updates, and relevant notes within the pharmacy systemMaintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA complianceSupport pharmacists with additional pharmacy operations as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsMust be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Connecticut or hold an active national pharmacy technician certificationPrevious retail pharmacy experience strongly preferredStrong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailFamiliarity with pharmacy insurance and billing processesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced pharmacy environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills
