The ideal candidate will have experience working with specialty medications and a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Pharmacy Technician works as a liaison between patients and healthcare organizations, with the primary role of ensuring patient safety while providing excellent patient service. This individual fields calls from patients, providers, and third-party payers, and helps to answer questions by listening, educating, and problem solving.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures that patient’s pharmacy needs are fulfilled in a timely, accurate and service oriented manner.Verifies insurance information and obtains necessary preauthorizationMaintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugsMaintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsOrganizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; preparing other pharmaceutical therapiesFocuses on conflict resolution without blame; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others' ideas and attempts new thingsEmploys the interpersonal and advocacy skills necessary to deal with a diverse patient population successfully and professionallyEnsures customer satisfaction by answering questions, resolving issues, and using proper phone etiquette; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics; Manages difficult or emotional customer situations.Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance.Remains focused and on-task; delegates appropriately; able to multi-task; avoids distraction; meets deadlinesPlans for action; maintains a strategic outlook; seizes opportunities to enhance personal and professional development; Sees projects through to their final stageAssists with training new employees as necessaryAdapts readily when new roles and responsibilities arise during times of organizational growthWorks inter-departmentally to promote organizational developmentParticipates in Quality Management activities, provides input on areas identified as needing quality improvement, and reports to the Quality Management Committee as necessaryMaintain patient confidence by operating in compliance with HIPAA, local, state, and federal guidelines, and the organization’s privacy policiesREQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLSAbility to perform duties in accordance with the organization’s, state and federal policy and lawStrong Interpersonal Skills, Written and OralCommunication Skills, Written and OralStrong Data Entry SkillsAbility to work independently under general supervision and effectively prioritize workloadAbility to demonstrate workstyle flexibility and teamwork, including being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitudeKnowledge of basic medical terminologySound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHAKnowledge and proficiency with standard office software applications including but not limited to Internet,Outlook, and Microsoft Office productsREQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GEDActive and unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing, as required by the state(s) of practice.Minimum of 1 year pharmacy technician experience requiredNational Pharmacy Technician Certification and certificate from accredited school in states where requiredAbout IVX HealthIVX Health is a national provider of infusion and injection therapy for individuals managing chronic conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.
