Our Pharmacy Technician role is your opportunity to grow while contributing to our vision of healthier lives for all.Role Highlights: As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll be at the core of our pharmacy, ensuring the smooth preparation, filling, and distribution of medicationsImpact and Growth: Your efforts will directly enhance patient care and safety, with opportunities for personal and professional developmentWork Environment: Thrive in a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere where collaboration is keyMission-Driven: Join a compassionate healthcare team committed to community service and equityKey ResponsibilitiesAssist pharmacists by entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication dosingDispense medications accurately and safely to patientsMaintain medication stock and supplies, adhering to safety protocolsAdjust workload priorities to maximize efficiencyHandle insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptlyComplete daily and monthly checklists, including expired drug checks and ordersProvide patient counseling and document refusalsCommunicate with physicians' offices and insurance companies as necessaryConduct weekly controlled substance counts and document findingsHelp train new pharmacy staffDeliver exceptional customer service and engage respectfully with customers and colleaguesParticipate in shift change communication hand-offsAlways maintain patient confidentialityReport unresolved issues to the Pharmacist, ManagerInform peers about drug shortages, availability, and pricingTrack non-stock requests and offer recommendationsEngage in interim and annual physical inventoriesSupport the 340b program's inventory integrityMaintain prescription files per policy and procedureManage cash collection and daily money proceduresReconcile prescription fills with billing recordsPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsMust have high school diploma or equivalentMust have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificateMust be registered with the Texas State Board of PharmacyMust be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activitiesMust maintain BLS /CPRMust maintain required certificationsMust have two (2) years healthcare experience1+ years pharmacy logistics preferredMust be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general publicMust be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationDemonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash registerAbility to remain calm under stressful conditionsMust be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritizeComputer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting softwareBilingual preferredAbout Legacy Community HealthAs the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
