Pharmacy Technician – County JailLocation: Pittsburgh, PAPay: $25 per hourSchedule: Full-time, minimum 40 hours per weekContract: Long-term opportunityCogent Infotech/CWS Health is seeking a dependable Pharmacy Technician to support the Medical Unit at the County Jail. The Pharmacy Technician will work under appropriate supervision to process, prepare, package, inventory and deliver medications within the facility.ResponsibilitiesEnter medication and ancillary orders into electronic medical records.Fill and package medications under appropriate supervision.Deliver medication orders to designated areas within the facility.Receive shipments and maintain accurate pharmaceutical inventory.Check medication carts, refrigerators and storage areas.Remove expired medications and replenish supplies.Maintain accurate records of medications received, filled, returned and destroyed.Follow required procedures for controlled medications.Communicate with clinical and direct-care staff regarding medication orders.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Pharmacy Technician certificate or at least one year of Pharmacy Technician experience.Current CPR/BLS certification by the time of appointment.Ability to work assigned shifts in a 24/7 facility.Comfortable working in a secure correctional healthcare environment.Strong computer, medication-record and inventory-management skills.Ability to obtain required Act 33/34 clearances at the applicant’s expense.Must successfully complete the required background check and pre-employment drug/medical screening.Why Consider This Opportunity?Competitive pay of $25 per hour.Minimum of 40 hours per week.Stable, long-term contract.Opportunity to support an essential county healthcare program.Structured clinical environment with established security procedures.
