Tailor my CV for this job — freePhD Opportunity — Building Digital Twins of Human Embryo Implantation and Uterine HealthDigital Reproductive Biology Lab | Carlos Simón Foundation | Valencia, SpainWhat if we could simulate human embryo implantation in a computer? We are looking for highly motivated PhD candidates to develop mechanistic digital twins of embryo implantation and uterine physiology, integrating molecular networks, cellular behaviours and physical processes.THE PROJECTThe first phase will focus on building an advanced, modular simulation platform by integrating and extending existing computational technologies:Computational systems biology: stochastic Boolean networks and mechanistic models (MaBoSS, PhysiBoSS).3D biophysics and multiscale modelling: physical simulations, reaction–diffusion processes and integration of molecular, cellular and tissue-level dynamics.Scientific software engineering: development and integration of computational tools, simulation workflows and 3D visualisation. The platform will progressively incorporate experimental data and advanced reproductive models to investigate embryo–uterus interactions and uterine function in health and disease.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORCandidates from Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Bioengineering, Biotechnology or related disciplines, with:Excellent academic record: GPA ≥ 8.5/10 or equivalent.A master’s degree completed or in progress, with eligibility for doctoral studies.Strong interest in computational modelling and programming.Good scientific English.Experience with Python, C++, numerical simulation, mathematical modelling or scientific software development will be particularly valued.Previous experience in reproductive biology is not essential. We welcome curious, technically ambitious candidates who enjoy building computational tools and solving challenging scientific problems.WHAT WE OFFERAn opportunity to work at the frontier of computational biology and digital medicine, gaining transferable expertise in multiscale modelling, computational biophysics and digital twin technologies, with applications across biotechnology, pharmaceutical R&D, computational medicine and scientific software development. The selected candidate will receive support in applying for competitive predoctoral fellowships (FPU, ACIF and others).HOW TO APPLYPlease submit the following documents by 31 October 2026:Updated CV.Undergraduate academic transcript, including GPA.Brief motivation letter.
