Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole Description The PhD Researcher in Artificial Intelligence, Materials Engineering, Economy, and Medical Science is a full-time, on-site role based in WP Kuala Lumpur. The researcher will design and conduct original research projects that integrate AI methods with materials engineering, economic analysis, and medical science applications. Daily tasks include developing research hypotheses, performing literature reviews, designing experiments or models, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and documenting findings. The role involves writing high-quality scientific articles, preparing reports, and contributing to grant proposals and project documentation. The researcher will collaborate with supervisors, multidisciplinary research teams, and external partners, present results at seminars and conferences, and support teaching or mentoring activities when required. Responsibilities also include adhering to ethical standards, institutional policies, and timelines for project milestones and thesis completion. This is for multiple PhD positions, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Materials Engineering, Economics, and Medical Science-related fields.QualificationsStrong foundation in Artificial Intelligence and data-driven methods (e.g., machine learning, statistical modeling, computational analysis).Knowledge of Materials Engineering principles and experimental or simulation techniques relevant to advanced materials research.Ability to apply economic reasoning, quantitative analysis, or health economics concepts in interdisciplinary research.Understanding of medical science fundamentals, biomedical contexts, or clinical research considerations for translational studies.Proficiency in academic research skills, including literature review, research design, data collection, data analysis, and scientific writing.Competence in relevant software tools and programming languages (such as Python, R, MATLAB, or specialized engineering/medical software).Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Medical or Health Sciences) and eligibility for PhD admission at Universiti Malaya.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage time effectively, and meet research deadlines.Prior research experience, publications, or involvement in funded projects will be considered an advantage.
