While our practice has a strong foot and ankle patient base, this is not exclusively a foot and ankle position. Our therapists also work with a broad range of orthopedic and general musculoskeletal conditions.We’re looking for a physical therapist who values quality patient care, enjoys building relationships with patients, and wants to grow within a collaborative clinical environment.What Your Caseload Will Look LikeThe typical caseload for this position consists of approximately:50–60% foot and ankle rehabilitation40–50% orthopedic and general musculoskeletal rehabilitationAs an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you can expect to work with patients recovering from or managing conditions such as:Post-surgical rehabilitationFoot and ankle injuries and conditionsKnee, hip, and lower back painShoulder and neck conditionsSports-related injuriesBalance and mobility limitationsChronic pain and movement dysfunctionThis mix provides the opportunity to develop expertise in foot and ankle rehabilitation while continuing to treat a broad orthopedic patient population.Your RoleAs a physical therapist, you will be responsible for managing patient care from evaluation through progression and discharge. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Conducting comprehensive initial evaluations and follow-up reassessmentsDeveloping individualized plans of care based on patient needs, functional limitations, and recovery goalsProviding evidence-based outpatient physical therapy interventionsProgressing treatments based on patient response and clinical outcomesEducating patients on movement, recovery strategies, injury prevention, and home exercise programsMaintaining timely and accurate treatment documentation within the EMRCommunicating with physicians and other members of the care team regarding patient progressCollaborating with Physical Therapist Assistants and support staff to maintain continuity of careSupervising and directing PTAs and support staff when appropriateCreating an encouraging treatment environment that helps patients stay engaged in their recoveryQualifications & Clinical BackgroundDoctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited programActive California Physical Therapy LicenseCurrent BLS CertificationStrong patient communication and interpersonal skillsOutpatient orthopedic experience preferredPost-surgical rehabilitation experience is a plusSpanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to applyNew graduates with strong clinical rotation experience are welcome to applyCompensation & Schedule$90,000–$110,000 annually depending on experienceFull-time positionMonday–Friday scheduleNo weekendsWhy Build Your PT Career With VFASP?Our physical therapy department continues to grow alongside an established network of providers and patients.
