This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated physician with a passion for advancing care in Barrett’s esophagus and related conditions.Job DescriptionProvide expert clinical care for patients with Barrett’s esophagus and associated disorders.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive treatment plans.Engage in academic clinical research to advance knowledge and improve patient outcomes.Contribute to program development initiatives aimed at expanding and enhancing Barrett’s esophagus services.Ideal CandidateBoard-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.Completed a Barrett’s Esophagus Fellowship.Demonstrated interest in academic clinical research and program development.Strong commitment to education, innovation, and collaboration within an academic health system.The Jefferson Digestive Health Institute offers comprehensive services in gastroenterology and hepatology, including:Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopyMotility and liver transplantationSpecialized centers for celiac disease, IBD, complicated polyps, fatty liver, viral hepatitis, and liver tumorsAcademic ExcellenceJefferson is a leading academic center with:A traditional GI fellowshipThree advanced fellowships in Transplant Hepatology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Advanced EndoscopyPosition ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Director will:Lead and grow the Barrett’s Esophagus ProgramManage a large cohort of patients across all stages of Barrett’s careUtilize advanced imaging and therapeutic technologies including RFA, APC, EMR, and cryotherapyDrive clinical research and innovation in Barrett’s EsophagusMentor fellows and residents, contributing to Jefferson’s academic missionQualificationsBoard certification in GastroenterologyEligible for or currently holding a Pennsylvania medical licenseDemonstrated expertise in advanced endoscopic imaging and therapiesStrong interest in teaching, mentoring, and academic collaborationProven leadership skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and research
