Physics Teacher

About the Role

SAIS is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physics Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in physics, fostering a positive learning environment, and preparing students for both academic and real-world success. This position requires a passion for science education, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student growth and achievement.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging physics lesson plans that meet American curriculum standards.Teach physics courses to high school students, including but not limited to general physics, honors physics, and advanced placement (AP) physics.Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.Assess student performance through exams, reports, and other evaluation methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed during experiments.Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.Collaborate with other science department members to align curriculum and share best practices.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in chemistry education and pedagogy.Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress and any concerns.Participate in school-related activities, such as parent-teacher conferences, extracurricular clubs, and school events.

Qualifications

Bachelor/master's degree in physics with an educational diploma. A minimum of 2 years experience as a high school physics teacher. IELTS 6.5Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.An excellent team player both within the department and across phases.
