About the JobRole DescriptionA Physiotherapy Assistant supports physiotherapists and rehabilitation teams in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing physical rehabilitation. The role involves preparing treatment areas and equipment, assisting patients with prescribed exercises and mobility activities under professional supervision, maintaining treatment equipment, and supporting the smooth operation of physiotherapy services.The position is suitable for candidates with healthcare, rehabilitation, fitness, or patient-support experience. Previous experience in physiotherapy or a rehabilitation setting is an advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist physiotherapists with preparing patients and treatment areas for therapy sessions.Prepare, clean, and organize physiotherapy equipment and treatment areas.Assist patients with prescribed exercises and mobility activities under the direction of a qualified physiotherapist.Support patients during walking, stretching, strengthening, and rehabilitation exercises as instructed.Help patients safely move between treatment areas, exercise equipment, wheelchairs, beds, and other designated areas.Assist with positioning patients correctly for treatment under professional supervision.Prepare therapy equipment and materials according to treatment plans.Assist with the use of basic rehabilitation equipment as instructed by the physiotherapist.Monitor patients during exercises and immediately report discomfort, pain, dizziness, or other concerns to the supervising professional.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment.Clean and disinfect reusable physiotherapy equipment according to established procedures.Prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.Assist with maintaining basic patient and treatment records as required.Help manage therapy equipment, supplies, and inventory.Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.Support appointment preparation and general administrative activities when required.Assist elderly, injured, or mobility-limited patients with appropriate care and attention.Follow patient privacy, infection-control, health, and safety procedures.Communicate professionally with patients, families, physiotherapists, and other healthcare staff.Perform other support duties related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation services as assigned.RequirementsHigh school diploma, healthcare certificate, or equivalent qualification is preferred.Previous experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, fitness, or patient support is an advantage.Basic understanding of physical rehabilitation and patient mobility is beneficial.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Caring, patient, and respectful approach when working with patients.Ability to follow instructions from qualified healthcare professionals accurately.Good physical fitness and ability to assist patients with mobility when required.Strong attention to safety and hygiene.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.Basic computer skills are an advantage.Relevant UAE healthcare or professional certification may be required depending on the employer and scope of duties.What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience and qualifications.On-the-job training and practical rehabilitation experience.Opportunity to develop healthcare and patient-support skills.Professional and supportive clinical environment.Career development opportunities within healthcare and rehabilitation services.Employment benefits in accordance with UAE labour regulations.
