The company focuses on combining advanced automation with practical field insight to improve estimating workflows and project outcomes for its customers.Role Description The Piping Estimator at The Takeoff AI is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role is responsible for reviewing piping drawings and specifications, verifying automated takeoffs, and preparing accurate material and labor estimates for industrial and process projects. The Piping Estimator will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and sales teams to support bids, clarify scope, and ensure estimates align with project requirements and industry standards. Daily activities include analyzing drawings and models, checking quantities generated by the software, refining material lists, and documenting assumptions and clarifications. The role also involves contributing feedback to improve product features, developing best practices for estimating workflows, and supporting internal training on effective use of The Takeoff AI platform.QualificationsStrong experience in piping estimation for industrial or process projects, including reviewing drawings, isometric and P&ID interpretation, and preparing detailed material takeoffs.Working knowledge of piping systems, materials, fittings, valves, and related codes and standards commonly used in industrial and process environments.Proficiency with construction or engineering software tools (such as takeoff, CAD, or BIM platforms) and comfort working with technology-driven workflows.Ability to analyze technical documentation, identify discrepancies, and communicate clearly with project stakeholders to resolve questions and align on scope.Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.Prior experience in mechanical, piping, or industrial construction estimating, field engineering, or related rolesRelevant education such as a degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Commitment to inclusive, collaborative teamwork and willingness to provide input that helps refine and improve The Takeoff AI product and processes.
