The Planning Supervisor oversees demand forecasting, material requirements, and inventory flow across hospital operations. This role aligns supply capabilities with clinical, administrative, and facility management requirements to maintain continuous service delivery, prevent stockouts, and optimize holding costs within the hospital ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesDemand & Supply Planning: Develop accurate demand forecasts for hospital inventory (clinical consumables, non-clinical supplies, administrative materials, and facility spares) based on patient volume trends and department requisitions.Hospital Department Liaison: Coordinate directly with departmental heads (Nursing, Clinical Operations, Facilities, IT, and Finance) to plan for non-routine procurement, major projects, and seasonal volume spikes.Inventory Control & Reorder Optimization: Set and review inventory targets, min/max thresholds, safety stock levels, and reorder points across central hospital warehouses and ward-level sub-stores.MRP & ERP Execution: Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes within the hospital’s ERP/HIS platform to ensure timely purchase requisitions and buffer management.Supplies & Material Flow: Track lead times and delivery schedules with procurement and logistics teams to guarantee uninterrupted operational flows throughout the facility.Expiry & Waste Minimization: Enforce strict inventory rotation protocols (FIFO/FEFO) to eliminate material obsolescence and minimize scrap across all hospital store units.KPI Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance indicators, including forecast accuracy, stockout frequency, inventory turnover, and order fulfillment rates.Team Supervision: Lead, schedule, and evaluate the performance of planning analysts, store supervisors, and inventory coordinators.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience: 4–6 years of experience in supply chain planning and inventory management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior planner role within a hospital or healthcare setting.Certifications (Preferred): APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification.Skills & CompetenciesTechnical: Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP, Oracle, TrackCare, etc.) and advanced MS Excel.Analytical: Strong skills in consumption data analysis, statistical forecasting, and trend evaluation.Leadership & Communication: Clear verbal and written communication in English and Arabic, with strong team management and cross-departmental coordination skills.
