The project integrates up to 4 GW of renewable energy and is scheduled to commence operations in 2026.Position SummaryThe Plant Computing Senior Engineer is responsible for the operation, support, and optimization of plant computing systems, with a focus on AspenTech solutions, operational technology (OT) systems, OT infrastructure, and IT/OT integration.The role ensures the reliability, availability, and cybersecurity of critical operational systems supporting production and engineering activities. Working closely with operations, engineering, IT teams, and external vendors, the successful candidate will troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and contribute to projects that improve plant performance and digitalization.
Key Responsibilities
System Management & SupportOperate, maintain, and support plant computing systems, including AspenTech solutions, SIMATIC, GE Vernova Advanced Energy Management System (E-Terra Habitat), and other engineering tools.Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of OT systems.Develop and execute maintenance schedules and strategies to minimize downtime.Project SupportParticipate in projects involving the implementation, upgrade, and optimization of OT systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project activities with business objectives and manufacturing requirements.Support project planning by providing technical expertise, testing, and documentation.Technical ExpertiseProvide technical support, administration, and troubleshooting for AspenTech and other OT solutions.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.Support the integration and data flow between OT systems and IT platforms.Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and standards.Vendor & Stakeholder CollaborationWork with vendors and service providers to support OT systems.Evaluate products and services against operational requirements.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address business needs related to OT systems.Security & ComplianceEnsure OT systems comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.Support cybersecurity measures to protect operational systems.Participate in audits and assessments to maintain compliance and system integrity.Qualifications & Experience:EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Master's degree is preferred but not required.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in plant computing, OT systems, or industrial IT/automation environments.Hands-on experience with AspenTech solutions, including Aspen IP.21, Aspen InfoPlus, or related tools.Strong understanding of operational technology systems, process control networks, and engineering software tools.Technical RequirementsExperience with IT/OT integration and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and MQTT.Knowledge of cybersecurity principles within OT/ICS environments and frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443.Experience with Windows/Linux administration, virtualization, databases, and backup/recovery solutions.Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in industrial and energy sectors.Preferred CertificationsAspenTech product certifications.ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity certifications.Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent infrastructure certifications.ITIL Foundation certification.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport system audits, compliance reviews, and disaster recovery exercises.Assist in training plant personnel on OT and IT systems.Participate in cross-functional projects involving IT, OT, and process engineering teams.Support proof-of-concept evaluations for new technologies.Provide on-call support for critical OT and plant computing issues.Skills & Technical Knowledge:Technical SkillsProficiency in servers, networking, virtualization, and storage technologies.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.Strong understanding of IT/OT infrastructure, process control systems, and cybersecurity principles.Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and ITIL frameworks.Understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery practices.Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.Strong analytical and documentation skills.Excellent command of written and spoken English.Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
