Location: Suzhou / Shanghai, ChinaPackage: RMB 2–3 Million (Base + Bonus + Long-term Incentive)Reporting Line: Directly to Global HeadquartersAbout the RoleWe are partnering with a leading global medical device company to identify a Plant General Manager for their manufacturing operations in the Yangtze River Delta region.This is not a traditional "plant manager" role.

The company is looking for a bridge between global strategy and local execution — a leader who can translate headquarters' vision into operational reality on the ground, while representing the plant's voice back to the global organization.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipAct as the primary interface between global headquarters and the local plant, ensuring strategic alignment and clear communication in both directionsTranslate global manufacturing strategy into local execution plans, balancing HQ requirements with local operational realitiesRepresent the plant's interests, capabilities, and constraints in global decision-making forumsPlant Operations ManagementOversee full-site operations: production, quality, supply chain, engineering, EHS, and continuous improvementDrive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDCP)Lead plant P&L, budgeting, and capital expenditure planningChampion lean manufacturing, automation, and digital transformation initiativesOrganizational DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a senior leadership team across all plant functionsBuild a high-performance culture aligned with global values and local needsDevelop succession pipelines and talent development programsRegulatory & ComplianceEnsure full compliance with local regulations and global quality standards (ISO 13485, FDA, NMPA, etc.)Lead regulatory inspections and customer audits with a "zero major finding" mindsetWhat We're Looking ForMust-Have:10+ years of manufacturing operations management experience, ideally in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or regulated high-end manufacturingProven experience working in a global matrix organization, with direct exposure to cross-cultural collaboration with headquartersDeep expertise in full-site operations: production, quality, supply chain, EHS, and continuous improvementEnglish proficiency at working level — able to lead meetings, present to HQ, and negotiate with global stakeholdersStrong business acumen: P&L ownership, budgeting, and capital planning experienceTrack record of driving operational excellence (lean, six sigma, TPM, etc.)Nice-to-Have:Experience with M&A integration or greenfield plant setupExperience in China market regulatory landscape (NMPA, GMP)Advanced degree (MBA or technical master's)What We OfferCompetitive package: RMB 2–3 million total compensationLong-term incentive: equity or LTI plan (details upon discussion)Direct reporting line to global headquarters — high visibility, high impactStrategic role: you are not just "running a plant" — you are shaping the bridge between global strategy and local executionLocation flexibility: Suzhou or Shanghai, with relocation support availableWhy This Role Stands OutThis is not a "fill a seat" search.
