This is an opportunity to take ownership of a new operation, establish a high-performing team, and embed the systems, standards, and operating disciplines required to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient performance.The Plant Manager will hold full accountability for the facility’s people, safety, production, quality, and financial performance. During the facility’s establishment and ramp-up, you will work closely with project, engineering, and operational teams to transition the plant into stable, high-performing operations.About the roleLead the establishment, commissioning, and operational ramp-up of the new Somersby plastics sorting facilityTake full accountability for the facility’s safety, people, production, quality, environmental, and financial performanceRecruit, establish, and develop a capable, safety-focused site leadership and operational teamEmbed Re.Group’s health, safety, environmental, and compliance standards from the outsetDevelop and implement site operating plans, procedures, and performance measuresDeliver agreed throughput, recovery, product quality, availability, and cost targetsManage live production activities while building disciplined, reliable, and efficient operating practicesEnsure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, environmental, and contractual obligationsMaintain audit readiness and accurate operational, safety, and compliance reportingManage the site budget, labour requirements, and operating costs to achieve agreed commercial outcomesEstablish and actively use plant capacity models to monitor availability, utilisation, and efficiencyWork closely with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to resolve defects, improve reliability, and optimise plant performanceDrive continuous improvement through LEAN principles, structured problem-solving, and data-driven decision-makingBuild productive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholdersProvide regular reporting and performance insights to senior operational leadershipAbout youProven experience as the accountable leader of an industrial, manufacturing, or processing facilityExperience commissioning, establishing, or ramping up a new or significantly upgraded operationStrong operational leadership capability with a demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental performanceExperience in plastics, recycling, resource recovery, manufacturing, or another relevant industrial environmentDemonstrated success establishing high-performing teams, systems, and operating disciplinesExperience implementing LEAN, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologiesStrong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to oversee plant reliability, maintenance, and fault resolutionSound understanding of production planning, quality control, and plant-performance measuresStrong commercial and financial acumen, including responsibility for site budgets and operational cost controlA confident and visible leadership style, with the ability to set clear expectations and accountabilityStrong communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving capabilitiesWhy us?Attractive salary packageAccess to exclusive discounts and benefits at over 500 retailers across AustraliaNovated car leasingAccess to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Multiple career paths and advancement opportunitiesThe opportunity to work towards our vision of creating a wasteless societyAt Re.Group, we celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion.
