Plant Operations Manager

Constellation Search Group is looking for an Operations Manager, Plant for a full-time direct hire position. The role involves overseeing operations for a 24/7 waste incinerator facility, focusing on safe operations, financial management, and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and optimize production processes to enhance productivity and quality. This position requires strong leadership to foster collaboration among departments and handle various operational responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices consistently.Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations within the waste and environmental services industry.Plan facility operations by reviewing production schedules and establishing priorities to maintain productivity and quality.Establish operating goals, resolve operational and maintenance issues, and minimize costs to prevent delays.Develop and revise operational procedures, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.Utilize chemistry and waste treatment knowledge to troubleshoot treatment processes.Set production metrics and monitor progress to meet business line goals.Facilitate collaboration between inter-plant departments and Corporate teams.Prepare and complete audits for various mandatory reporting across functional departments.Assist in developing the annual operational budget and monitor adherence to the budget for proper pricing and profitability.Partner with Corporate Approvals to determine waste disposal options and address issues with non-conforming waste materials.Participate in proposal development, assist with cost estimates and program planning, and provide technical support to Corporate teams.Manage departmental expenses including P&L, disposal billing, timesheet approvals, etc.Continuously monitor facility operations for efficiency improvement opportunities.Assist in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying causes and coordinating corrective measures and follow-up actions.Serve as a member of the Plant Emergency Team, leading effective responses to emergency situations.Participate in hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, promotion, and termination processes as needed.Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or science-related field (required).In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of related plant operations experience in hazardous waste operations and/or chemical plant operations (required).5+ years of related plant operations experience in hazardous waste operations and/or chemical plant operations (required).Reasonable experience with and understanding of P&Ls (required).Technical knowledge of equipment and/or processes related to chemistry (required).Experience with industrial waste treatment practices (preferred).Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner with an emphasis on driving a safety culture.Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder communication.Strong leadership skills to coach and motivate team members.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills for solution identification.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.Regular and predictable attendance to perform role functions and requirements.
