Apply & track with Apply EdgePlatform EngineerRole DescriptionWe are seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable, secure, and reliable technology platforms that enable efficient software development, deployment, and operations. This role is responsible for developing platform infrastructure, automating operational processes, improving system reliability, and supporting engineering teams with robust platform services and cloud-native technologies.The successful candidate will collaborate with software engineers, DevOps engineers, cloud architects, security specialists, site reliability engineers (SREs), data engineers, and product teams to build modern platform capabilities that accelerate application delivery and improve operational efficiency. You will develop reusable infrastructure components, automate deployment workflows, and implement platform solutions that enhance scalability, availability, and performance.Key responsibilities include designing and managing cloud infrastructure, building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, developing CI/CD pipelines, implementing container orchestration platforms, monitoring production environments, automating system administration tasks, and maintaining platform documentation. You will optimize infrastructure utilization, improve deployment reliability, enhance developer productivity, and ensure operational excellence across multiple environments.The role also involves managing Kubernetes clusters, containerized applications, cloud networking, identity and access management, secrets management, observability platforms, logging systems, and performance monitoring solutions. You will collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure platform architectures, enforce compliance requirements, and integrate security best practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.You will contribute to platform architecture decisions, disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, cost optimization initiatives, incident response, capacity planning, and continuous improvement programs. You will evaluate emerging cloud technologies, platform engineering tools, automation frameworks, and AI-assisted operational solutions to improve infrastructure resilience and engineering efficiency.Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, automation skills, systems thinking, analytical problem-solving abilities, and the capability to support mission-critical production environments within a fast-paced engineering organization.This position offers the opportunity to build next-generation platform infrastructure that empowers engineering teams, accelerates software innovation, and delivers secure, scalable, and highly available digital services.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.Strong understanding of cloud computing, distributed systems, platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and infrastructure automation.Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, Java, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript.Familiarity with cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or equivalent cloud environments.Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation, or similar automation frameworks.Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and service mesh architectures.Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, CircleCI, or equivalent automation tools.Familiarity with Linux system administration, networking concepts, DNS, load balancing, storage systems, identity and access management (IAM), and security best practices.Knowledge of monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent platforms.Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Git version control, Agile methodologies, and collaborative engineering workflows.Familiarity with secrets management, API gateways, reverse proxies, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems.Understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance frameworks, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning.Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL databases, caching technologies, message queues, and cloud-native data services is advantageous.Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, security, operations, and product teams.Ability to prepare technical documentation, platform architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, infrastructure documentation, and engineering standards.Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with cloud-native technologies, platform engineering trends, AI-assisted DevOps, and emerging infrastructure innovations.Professional, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for building scalable, resilient, secure, and developer-friendly platform ecosystems.
