We provide both in-person and telehealth services for our clients.Job PurposeThe PMHNP Intern will receive training and support in an outpatient Article 31 setting to increase their clinical skill set to address the psychiatric needs of the general population, including children and adolescents. Interns will be responsible for conducting initial client intakes for children, adolescents, and adults after a period of training. The intern will also have the opportunity to shadow psychiatrists and PNHNPs who are providing medication management. This academic internship offers valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment, aimed at developing essential skills and knowledge in mental health and social services.This internship requires a 2-semester commitment. ResponsibilitiesParticipate in clinical intakes and follow-up sessions for Athena clients, as appropriate to the student’s level of training, school requirements, clinical readiness, and supervision planParticipate in case presentations and collaborative team discussions as appropriate, under the guidance of the clinical preceptor, school clinical syllabus, and applicable code of conductAttend weekly clinical supervision with both Medical Director and Clinical DirectorAttend weekly psychodynamic case conference and all-staff meetingComplete all required clinical documentation by a given deadline and in compliance with program and state regulationsShadow current PMHNP and Psychiatrist and assist them with assigned tasksEnsures all clinical notes and client information are updated and accurate within the current EHR system (Salesforce). Work in collaboration with case management team, administrative staff, and assigned care team to ensure client needs are successfully metOther duties as assigned by SupervisorQualificationsPursuing a Master's Degree from an accredited school in Psychiatric NursingBilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not requiredSecond Year InternshipMust be passionate about working with underserved communities and possess a high level of engagement, organization and interpersonal skillsWorking ConditionsThis position will be located at either the Manhattan office at 33 West 60th Street, New York, NY 10023, Suite 600, the Bronx office at 2825 Third Avenue, Suite 402, Bronx, NY 10455 or Remote.
