Manager – Corporate PolicyLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAEFunction: Corporate Governance / PolicyLevel: ManagerRole PurposeThe Manager – Corporate Policy will be responsible for managing the organisation’s corporate policy framework and ensuring policies are current, consistent, clearly owned and aligned with business, governance and regulatory requirements.The role will work closely with business functions, Governance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit to develop, review and update corporate policies and drive timely implementation across the organisation.This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can independently manage the end-to-end policy lifecycle, work with multiple stakeholders and improve policy governance across a large and complex organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesPolicy Framework & GovernanceManage and maintain the organisation’s corporate policy framework.Establish and maintain clear standards, templates and guidelines for the development of policies, procedures and related documents.Ensure policies are aligned with the organisation’s governance framework, Delegation of Authority and applicable regulatory requirements.Maintain clear ownership, accountability and approval requirements for corporate policies.Identify gaps, duplication, inconsistencies or outdated requirements across the policy landscape.Policy Development & ReviewLead the drafting, review and revision of corporate policies in partnership with relevant subject matter experts.Support business functions in translating operational and regulatory requirements into clear and practical policies.Review policies for consistency, clarity, structure and alignment with organisational standards.Challenge policy content where requirements, responsibilities or controls are unclear.Coordinate stakeholder reviews and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.Policy Lifecycle ManagementManage the full policy lifecycle from development and consultation through approval, publication, review and retirement.Maintain a central policy register and track policy ownership, approval dates and review cycles.Proactively identify policies approaching or exceeding their scheduled review dates.Drive the closure of overdue policy reviews and escalate delays where necessary.Ensure superseded or obsolete policies are appropriately archived and removed from active circulation.Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with functional leaders and policy owners across the organisation.Partner with Corporate Governance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, HR, Finance and other functions to ensure policy alignment.Facilitate discussions between stakeholders where policy ownership or requirements are unclear.Provide guidance to policy owners on drafting standards, approval processes and governance requirements.Build accountability across the organisation for timely policy reviews and updates.Policy Compliance & AssuranceSupport the monitoring of adherence to the corporate policy framework.Identify policy-related governance gaps and recommend corrective actions.Support Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance teams with policy-related reviews and findings.Track policy-related actions arising from audits, governance reviews or regulatory requirements.Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trails are maintained for policy approvals and revisions.Reporting & Continuous ImprovementDevelop dashboards and reports covering policy status, overdue reviews, ownership and key risks.Provide regular updates to management on the health of the corporate policy portfolio.Analyse recurring policy issues and recommend improvements to the overall framework.Benchmark policy management practices against recognised standards and leading organisations.Support the implementation of digital policy management tools and workflow improvements where required.Candidate ProfileBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Compliance or a related discipline.Typically 7–10 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to corporate policy development and management.Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing and implementing corporate policies within a large organisation.Strong understanding of policy lifecycle management, governance frameworks, approval structures and document controls.Experience within manufacturing, industrial, energy, infrastructure, government, semi-government or another complex organisation would be advantageous.Experience working with Governance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit functions.Excellent policy writing and document review skills with strong attention to detail.Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge and influence policy
