Please see details below.Title: Port CaptainStart Date: ASAP (within 1 month notice period)Location: Qatar--Introduction--Client is executing multiple offshore EPC projects in QatarProjects involve multiple offshore construction vessels, including pipelay vessels, subsea construction vessels, cable and umbilical installation vessels, diving support vessels and other marine support vessels. Client is seeking an experienced Port Captain to be based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for supporting the overall marine and vessel management activities across projectsThe Port Captain will act as the key marine focal point within the Project Team and will coordinate with vessel owners, Masters, offshore construction teams, subcontractors, port authorities, marine service providers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that all project vessels are properly prepared, mobilized, operated and maintained in accordance with project requirements.The position will be primarily based in Doha, Qatar, supporting projects.Frequent travel and attendance at project vessels, ports, shipyards, fabrication yards and offshore locations will be required.--Main Responsibilities--Overall Vessel Management Responsible for the overall coordination and management of vessels engaged in projects, including pipelay vessels, subsea construction vessels, cable and umbilical installation vessels, diving support vessels and other marine support vessels.Vessel Mobilization and Readiness Coordinate and monitor vessel mobilization, demobilization, port calls, project readiness and offshore operational preparation. Support vessel readiness reviews, inspections and audits, and coordinate the timely close-out of deficiencies and outstanding actions prior to commencement of offshore operations.Interface with Vessel Owners and Masters Act as the primary marine interface between Project Teams and vessel owners, Masters, vessel management companies and offshore construction teams. Monitor vessel operational status and ensure project requirements are properly communicated and implemented onboard.Marine Operational Coordination Support and coordinate marine operations including vessel movements, port operations, marine logistics, personnel and material transfers, loading and offloading, bunkering, towing and other marine activities required for project execution.Vessel Technical and Operational Assurance Support the Project Teams in reviewing vessel capabilities, technical readiness and operational suitability for the intended scope of work. Coordinate with relevant engineering, construction, HSE and QA/QC teams to identify and resolve vessel-related technical, operational and safety issues.Inspection, Audit and Deficiency Close-out Coordinate and support vessel inspections, client inspections, MWS surveys, readiness reviews and other project-related vessel assessments. Monitor and follow up the close-out of findings, deficiencies and corrective actions with vessel owners and onboard teams.Marine Planning and SIMOPS Provide marine operational input to offshore execution planning, including vessel scheduling, marine logistics, port arrangements, SIMOPS coordination and interface management between multiple vessels and offshore activities.Daily Vessel Status Monitoring Establish and maintain an overview of vessel availability, operational status, mobilization progress, maintenance activities, critical constraints and upcoming project requirements across projects. Escalate potential issues that may impact safety, schedule or project execution in a timely manner.Marine Risk Management Participate in marine risk assessments and operational planning for critical activities. Identify potential marine and vessel-related risks and coordinate appropriate mitigation measures with vessel owners and relevant project stakeholders.Project Reporting and Coordination Prepare and maintain vessel status reports, readiness reports, mobilization progress reports and other marine-related reports as required by the Project Management Teams. Attend project meetings and provide timely updates on vessel-related issues and actions.Qualifications--Minimum Requirements-- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in marine operations, offshore construction, vessel management or marine project execution. Previous experience as a Port Captain, Marine Superintendent, Master, Chief Officer or similar marine management position is preferred.Experience Required Strong experience in managing or coordinating multiple offshore vessels, with familiarity in vessel mobilization, readiness, port operations, vessel inspections, offshore construction support, marine logistics and coordination with vessel owners and Masters. Experience with pipelay, subsea construction, cable installation or diving support vessels will be an advantage. Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities across different projects simultaneously. Previous experience in the Middle East, Qatar or QatarEnergy projects will be an advantage.
