operations.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Maritime Commercial Manager to lead commercial strategy, business development, customer relationships, revenue growth, contract management, market analysis, and profitability improvement across maritime and shipping activities.The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial judgment with maritime industry knowledge to identify new opportunities, optimize vessel and service utilization, strengthen customer and partner relationships, manage commercial agreements, and improve overall business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement maritime commercial strategies aligned with revenue, profitability, growth, and market objectives.Analyze shipping markets, freight trends, vessel supply and demand, customer requirements, competitors, and trade flows.Identify opportunities for revenue growth, market expansion, new services, and strategic partnerships.Develop commercial plans for shipping, vessel operations, marine services, logistics, chartering, or related activities.Evaluate new markets, trade lanes, cargo segments, customers, and commercial opportunities.Support vessel deployment and commercial utilization decisions through market and profitability analysis.Analyze voyage economics, freight rates, operating costs, port costs, fuel costs, and expected margins.Work closely with chartering and operations teams to optimize vessel utilization and commercial performance.Develop and negotiate charter-party agreements, service contracts, transportation agreements, and other commercial arrangements.Manage commercial negotiations with shipowners, charterers, cargo owners, brokers, agents, ports, terminals, and logistics providers.Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, brokers, and maritime partners.Identify customer requirements and develop tailored commercial solutions.Manage corporate, industrial, commodity, logistics, and other maritime customer accounts as applicable.Monitor customer pipelines, contract opportunities, renewals, retention, and revenue contribution.Prepare commercial proposals, tenders, bids, business cases, presentations, and investment recommendations.Evaluate contract terms, pricing structures, incentives, commissions, penalties, liabilities, and commercial risks.Coordinate with legal teams on contract negotiations, claims, disputes, and contractual obligations.Work with finance teams to monitor revenue, margins, forecasts, budgets, working capital, and profitability.Develop financial models for new contracts, routes, vessels, services, and commercial investments.Monitor commercial performance by vessel, route, customer, cargo segment, service, and contract.Identify underperforming contracts and develop corrective commercial strategies.Monitor freight markets, bunker prices, port charges, exchange rates, regulatory developments, and other commercial cost drivers.Track competitor pricing, capacity, vessel availability, service offerings, and market positioning.Develop regular market intelligence reports and commercial recommendations for management.Coordinate with operations teams to ensure commercial commitments are aligned with vessel availability and operational capabilities.Support voyage planning and commercial decision-making where operational constraints affect profitability.Work with procurement and supply-chain teams to manage commercially significant supplier and service-provider relationships.Monitor port, terminal, agency, stevedoring, bunker, and other third-party costs affecting commercial performance.Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining service quality, safety, and contractual performance.Manage commercial relationships with brokers, agents, terminals, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.Develop strategic partnerships that expand market access, service capabilities, or customer reach.Support business development initiatives, industry events, customer meetings, and commercial presentations.Maintain accurate commercial records, contracts, pricing data, customer information, and market intelligence.Establish commercial governance, approval processes, pricing controls, and reporting standards.Monitor contractual compliance, service-level commitments, payment performance, and customer obligations.Identify commercial, operational, credit, regulatory, and market risks and develop mitigation plans.Coordinate with risk, insurance, legal, compliance, and operations teams on material commercial exposures.Manage external consultants, brokers, agents, technology providers, and commercial service partners where required.Establish commercial KPIs, dashboards, forecasts, and performance-review processes.Use data analytics and market intelligence to improve pricing, customer targeting, vessel utilization, and profitability.Evaluate digital platforms, automation, maritime analytics, and technology solutions that improve commercial decision-making.Lead commercial projects involving new customers, markets, vessels, services, partnerships, and business models.Provide senior management in maritime commercial management, shipping, chartering, vessel operations, marine services, freight, port operations, logistics, or maritime business development, preferably within shipping companies, shipowners, charterers, marine operators, ports, terminals, or international logistics organizations.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong understanding of maritime commercial models and shipping economics.Experience with freight markets, vessel utilization, chartering, and commercial negotiations.Strong knowledge of voyage economics, freight rates, operating costs, port charges, and
