Post Doctoral Fellow

KU is seeking a highly motivated full-time postdoctoral research position in a project focused on computational modeling of reinforced thermoplastic pipes (RTP) and composite pipe systems. Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.A strong foundation in continuum mechanics, computational solid mechanics, finite element modeling, and constitutive modeling, preferably for composite and multilayered materials.Hands-on experience with Abaqus for nonlinear analysis, user subroutines, and large deformation problems.Knowledge in composite mechanics, including anisotropy, micromechanics modeling, and multi-scale modeling concepts.Strong publication record demonstrating expertise and independency in the relevant areasExperience with machine learning for material modeling or structural assessment is a plus, but not essential for the main scope of the project.
