Post-Fixture Operations Manager – Dry Bulk

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAESector: Dry Bulk ShippingAbout the OpportunityA well-established and growing international maritime business is seeking an experienced Post-Fixture / Dry Bulk Vessel Operations professional to join its team in Abu Dhabi.This is a hands-on commercial shipping role for an individual with strong experience managing vessels from fixture through to completion of the voyage, working closely with charterers, owners, brokers, agents, masters and internal commercial teams.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring voyages are executed efficiently, commercially and in accordance with charter party terms, while proactively managing operational and financial exposure.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the post-fixture operations of a fleet of dry bulk vessels from fixture confirmation through to completion.Review and interpret charter parties, ensuring operational activities are carried out in accordance with agreed terms.Coordinate closely with Chartering, Commercial, Masters, Owners, Charterers, Brokers and Port Agents.Monitor vessel schedules, port rotations, ETAs/ETDs, loading and discharging operations.Manage voyage instructions and ensure all operational requirements are communicated effectively to vessels and relevant stakeholders.Liaise with agents, terminals, charterers and other counterparties to ensure smooth port operations.Monitor and manage laytime, demurrage and despatch, including reviewing supporting documentation and claims.Identify and proactively resolve operational issues, delays, disputes and potential claims.Monitor voyage performance and associated operational costs.Work closely with the commercial team on voyage economics, deviations, off-hire exposure and other operational matters.Review and manage operational documentation, including NORs, SOFs, timesheets and cargo documentation.Support the preparation, negotiation and settlement of demurrage and operational claims.Maintain strong relationships with owners, charterers, brokers, agents and other external stakeholders.Ensure compliance with company procedures, charter party obligations and relevant maritime regulations.Provide timely operational updates and escalation of material issues to senior management.Contribute to improving operational processes, systems and voyage execution efficiency.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will have:5+ years' relevant experience in Dry Bulk Post-Fixture / Vessel Operations.Strong practical knowledge of the dry bulk shipping market and voyage execution.Experience managing vessels following fixture through loading, discharge and completion.Strong understanding of charter parties, laytime, demurrage and dispatch.Experience working with international shipowners, operators, charterers, brokers and port agents.Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand the financial implications of operational decisions.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vessels and voyages simultaneously.Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational matters.Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.Excellent written and verbal English.Desirable ExperienceExperience with Supramax, Ultramax, Panamax, Kamsarmax or Handymax dry bulk vessels would be advantageous.Experience within a shipowner, ship operator, commodity trading house or established maritime organisation would also be highly relevant.What the Company OffersOpportunity to join a growing international maritime platform in Abu Dhabi.Exposure to an international dry bulk fleet and global counterparties.Senior stakeholder exposure and a commercially focused working environment.Competitive remuneration package based on experience and suitability.Long-term career development opportunities within the organisation.ConfidentialityThis is a confidential search being managed by Tura Executive on behalf of an established international maritime business.For a confidential discussion regarding the opportunity, please apply.
