Post-Secondary Advisor About Momentum Education:Momentum Education is a Houston-based nonprofit that helps first-generation and low-income students become college-ready, enroll in post-secondary education, graduate, and ultimately enter careers that pay a living wage. Momentum operates two core programs: a High School Program and a Post-Secondary Program.High School ProgramCollege Readiness: Intensive SAT and TSIA2 preparation designed to help students become college-ready.Post-Secondary Enrollment: Monthly advising to help students apply to and enroll in post-secondary education.Post-Secondary ProgramAcademic Support: Monthly student surveys are analyzed to identify students who need additional support and connect them with targeted advising.Career Support: Students receive professional mentorship and connections to internships and job opportunities. About the Position:Momentum Education seeks a highly organized and student-centered Post-Secondary Advisor to support approximately 500 students as they progress through post-secondary education and into their careers. The Advisor will be accountable for Momentum's ultimate goal: at least 80% of students in their assigned caseload graduate from post-secondary education and enter a career that pays a living wage.This is a full-time, in-person position based in Houston, Texas, and reports to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities

The Post-Secondary Advisor will:Review monthly student survey responses, identify students who need additional support, and schedule follow-up meetings as neededMeet monthly with students whose GPA falls below 3.0 and develop plans to improve their academic performanceCommunicate consistently with students through email and Momentum Education's student communication platformMaintain accurate and timely student records, interactions, and notes in SalesforceSupport students in identifying and applying for internships and full-time job opportunitiesTrack student progress toward post-secondary graduation and living-wage employment Skills & Experience:The ideal candidate will have:Two plus years of experience working in education, college access or student advising Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload of approximately 500 studentsA strong commitment to Momentum Education's mission and interest in growing with the organization over the long termA proven ability to build trusting, positive relationships with studentsComfort using technology and student data systems; experience with Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, Trello, or similar platforms is preferredAbility to work in person at Momentum Education's Houston office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunchBachelor's degree and authorization to work in the United States Compensation & Benefits:Salary: $55,000 annually, with opportunities for performance-based annual raises
