Gambino at IINS which seeks to understand the circuit and network basis of cognitive functions and how synaptic plasticity underlies experience-dependent changes in neural circuits. The postdoc will play a key role in expanding these efforts toward high-density behavioral experiments and ex vivo electrophysiology in mice and validating computational predictions.We welcome applications from motivated postdoctoral researcher to establish and lead a new research program focused on behavior, activity-dependent photo-tagging, and ex vivo electrophysiology to study the synaptic and cellular mechanisms underlying working memory. The successful candidate will investigate how neural populations encode and maintain behaviorally relevant information during working memory tasks. The goal is to understand how synaptic properties contribute to the emergence of activity patterns that support this cognitive function.This research program is part of a broader project, which combines behavioral paradigms, activity-dependent photo-tagging, ex vivo synaptic physiology, in vivo electrophysiology and computational modeling to bridge the gap between synaptic dynamics and large-scale network activity. The candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including experts in behavioral neuroscience, synaptic physiology, and computational modeling, to develop mechanistic experiments in rodents while contributing to an integrated understanding of working memory. The postdoctoral position is funded for 2 years. Salary is based on the CNRS salary grid.
