Amrita has rapidly expanded as a premier institution of higher learning, providing strong infrastructure and support for cutting-edge research in emerging fields such as quantum science.Role Description This is a full-time remote Postdoctoral Fellowship position focused on quantum image representation, quantum algorithms, quantum signal processing, and quantum Fourier transform. The fellow will conduct independent and collaborative research, design and analyze quantum algorithms, and develop methods for encoding and processing image and signal data in quantum frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing simulations, data analysis, and validation of quantum models, preparing manuscripts and technical reports, and contributing to grant proposals and research presentations. The position may also involve remote mentoring of students, assisting in online teaching activities related to quantum computing and physics, and engaging with external collaborators to advance joint research initiatives. The fellow is expected to maintain high research standards, meet project milestones, and actively disseminate findings through conferences and peer-reviewed publications.Qualifications Strong background in Physics or closely related fields, with demonstrated expertise relevant to quantum computing and quantum information.Research skills including independent project design, literature review, and preparation of publications and technical reports.Laboratory or simulation skills for quantum systems, numerical modeling, and familiarity with quantum computing platforms or toolkits.Data Analysis skills, including statistical methods, signal processing techniques, and experience handling complex experimental or simulation data.Teaching and mentoring capabilities, with willingness to support remote instruction, supervise students, and contribute to academic activities.Ph.D. in Physics, Quantum Computing, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline (completed or near completion).Proficiency in programming languages or environments commonly used in quantum research (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Qiskit, or similar frameworks).Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and ability to work effectively in diverse, collaborative, and remote research teams.Prior publications in reputable journals or conferences in quantum information, signal processing, or related domains are highly desirable.
