Company DescriptionThe University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson is home to a broad range of interdisciplinary research focused on improving health and reducing health disparities. Within the Department of Psychiatry, the Sleep and Health Research Program conducts research on sleep and circadian health, behavioral sleep medicine, and the ways that sleep intersects with physical and mental health, health disparities, and the social and environmental context in which people live.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Sleep and Health Research Program and play a key role in Duerme Mejor, a community-engaged research project focused on improving access to evidence-based insomnia treatment in communities along the U.S.–Mexico border.The project combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), technology, and community-based approaches to develop and evaluate more accessible ways of delivering effective sleep care. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research staff, community partners, and other collaborators to help oversee implementation of the project, with particular emphasis on the delivery and evaluation of CBT-I.Responsibilities will include helping oversee study procedures and intervention delivery; supporting and supervising research staff; monitoring intervention quality and fidelity; working with community partners; analyzing and interpreting study data; preparing manuscripts and scientific presentations; and contributing to the development of new research questions and grant proposals.The position is designed to provide substantial opportunities for mentorship and career development in behavioral sleep medicine, community-engaged research, digital and technology-enabled interventions, sleep health disparities, and implementation of evidence-based care in underserved communities.This is a full-time position based at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, with project activities in Tucson and the U.S.–Mexico border region.QualificationsPhD or equivalent terminal degree in psychology, behavioral medicine, public health, clinical science, or a related field.Training or experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) or behavioral sleep medicine is strongly preferred.Experience conducting clinical, behavioral, or community-based research.Interest in using technology to expand access to evidence-based behavioral interventions.Interest in community-engaged research, health disparities, and improving access to care in underserved populations.Experience working with Hispanic/Latino, border, or other underserved communities is beneficial but not required. Spanish-language proficiency is welcome but is not required for this position.Strong skills in study coordination, data analysis, scientific writing, and scholarly dissemination.Ability to work collaboratively with research staff, faculty, trainees, community partners, and interdisciplinary collaborators.Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to help oversee multiple components of a research project.Strong record of prior peer-reviewed publications.
