Joining Children’s Mercy means contributing to a culture that is truly #BuiltForKids.Role Description The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct high-quality, pediatric-focused research as part of a multidisciplinary team at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, MO. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, performing data collection and analysis, and contributing to manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentations. The role involves collaborating with clinicians, scientists, and other research staff, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines. The Postdoctoral Researcher may also support teaching and mentoring activities for trainees and students in the research program. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO.Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Laboratory Skills and experimental techniques relevant to pediatric research.Strong Research experience, including study design, hypothesis testing, and scholarly dissemination of results.Background in Physics or a related quantitative discipline, with the ability to apply these principles to biomedical or pediatric problems.Advanced Data Analysis skills using statistical software and/or programming tools to interpret complex research datasets.Teaching, mentoring, or supervision experience with students, trainees, or peers in an academic or research environment.PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field (e.g., biomedical sciences, physics, biostatistics, or related discipline).Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple projects, and meet research timelines and milestones.Commitment to ethical research practices, inclusion, and improving health outcomes for children and families from diverse backgrounds.
