Established by Law (13) of 2021, Dubai Academic Health Corporation has operated under the brand name Dubai Health since November 11, 2023.Role Description The Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Biology is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai. This position focuses on designing and conducting computational analyses to address biomedical and clinical research questions, including the processing and interpretation of high-throughput omics and other complex datasets. The researcher will develop, test, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines, collaborate closely with clinicians and laboratory scientists, and contribute to multidisciplinary research projects within Dubai Health. Daily responsibilities include data management, algorithm development, statistical modeling, and preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves mentoring junior researchers or students, participating in grant proposals, and supporting the translation of computational findings into improvements in patient care.Qualifications Strong foundation in computational biology or bioinformatics, including experience with genomic, transcriptomic, or other omics data analysis.Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, or similar), as well as familiarity with relevant libraries and packages.Skills in statistics, machine learning, or modeling methods applied to biological and clinical datasets.Experience with Linux/Unix environments, version control (e.g., Git), and workflow or pipeline tools (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow, or equivalent).Knowledge of database management, data integration, and handling of large-scale healthcare or research data in a secure and compliant manner.Demonstrated ability to design and execute research projects, analyze results critically, and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal form.Track record of peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related fields.PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent research experience).Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet research timelines.Familiar
