Job Description – Power BI Developer / BI DeveloperJob Title: Power BI Developer / BI DeveloperExperience: 5–10 YearsEmployment Type: Full-TimeLocation: As per business requirementRole SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer / BI Developer with 5–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data visualization, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, SQL, and DAX, with experience in developing enterprise-level dashboards, data models, reports, and analytical solutions.The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to understand business requirements and convert them into scalable, interactive, and performance-optimized Power BI solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports. Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical BI solutions. Develop optimized DAX measures, calculated columns, calculated tables, and time-intelligence calculations. Create robust Power BI data models using Star Schema and dimensional modeling concepts. Write complex and optimized SQL queries, including joins, CTEs, subqueries, stored procedures, and aggregations. Connect Power BI with various data sources including SQL Server, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms, and other enterprise data sources. Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and preparation using Power Query / M. Optimize Power BI reports and datasets for performance, usability, and scalability. Implement appropriate relationships, hierarchies, filters, slicers, drill-throughs, bookmarks, and interactive visualizations. Configure and manage Power BI Service, workspaces, dashboards, datasets, and reports. Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and appropriate access controls. Schedule dataset refreshes and troubleshoot refresh and gateway-related issues. Work with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements. Perform data validation and reconciliation between source systems and Power BI reports. Monitor report performance and optimize inefficient DAX queries, data models, and SQL queries. Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve source data structures and reporting pipelines. Participate in deployment and release processes across Development, UAT, and Production environments. Maintain technical documentation for reports, datasets, data models, and business logic. Mandatory Technical SkillsPower BI4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI. Strong experience in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Expertise in dashboard and report development. Strong understanding of Power BI data modeling. Experience with Power Query and M language. Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, datasets, apps, and scheduled refresh. Hands-on experience with Row-Level Security (RLS). Experience with Power BI performance optimization. Understanding of deployment pipelines and Power BI administration concepts is preferred.
