Power BI Developer

Job Purpose:The Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions. The role will work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, integrate data from multiple sources, and provide accurate and actionable insights to support management decision-making.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations based on business requirements.Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into effective BI solutions.Develop and optimize data models, relationships, calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX.Use Power Query (M) for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and preparation from multiple data sources.Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects required for reporting and analytics.Integrate Power BI with various data sources, including ERP systems, databases, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms, and other enterprise applications.Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data through proper validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.Optimize Power BI dashboards, datasets, and queries to improve report performance, refresh time, and overall user experience.Configure and manage Power BI Service, including workspaces, datasets, scheduled refreshes, gateways, permissions, and Row-Level Security (RLS).Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dashboards, data refreshes, data models, connectivity, and report performance.Work closely with HR department to develop meaningful KPIs and management reports.Maintain proper technical documentation for data models, dashboards, data sources, calculations, and reporting processes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.6–10 years of relevant experience in Power BI development, BI reporting, or data analytics.Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query and Power BI Service.Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.Good understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and BI concepts.Experience integrating data from ERP/enterprise systems would be preferred.Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, or similar technologies will be an advantage.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into meaningful dashboards and actionable insights.
