Power BI DeveloperAre you a strong Power BI professional who enjoys building reports that do more than simply display data — reports that genuinely help people make better decisions? We are looking for a Power BI Developer with a strong technical foundation in Power BI reporting. Your main focus will be on designing, building, and optimizing high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards. At the same time, we expect you to look beyond the technical build: you understand the business question behind a report, help shape and refine requirements, and can communicate insights clearly to different stakeholders. This role is therefore broader than dashboard development alone, but the emphasis remains firmly on Power BI reporting. Business acumen, requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, and data storytelling are important because they enable you to build better Power BI solutions — not as a substitute for strong Power BI expertise. What will you do?As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for the full journey from business need to a decision-ready Power BI report. You will:Design and develop production-grade Power BI reports and dashboards.Create clear, consistent, and user-friendly report experiences using features such as drill-through, tooltips, bookmarks, and well-designed interactions.Optimize report performance through thoughtful visual design, filtering patterns, and report structure.Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, understand, and refine reporting requirements.Translate ambiguous business needs into clear and actionable reporting specifications.Proactively identify gaps or unclear requirements before and during development.Design reports around meaningful KPIs, actionable insights, exceptions, and decision-making needs.Present completed reports to non-technical stakeholders and explain the key insights, drivers, context, and implications behind the data.Run demos, collect stakeholder feedback, and continuously improve reports through iteration.Maintain and further develop semantic models.Build, maintain, and troubleshoot DAX measures.Use SQL to analyze data, validate results, and investigate issues.Implement and test Row-Level Security.Work within an enterprise BI environment with clear governance, naming conventions, documentation standards, and backlog-driven delivery. What are we looking for?First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a strong hands-on Power BI background. You bring:Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and building professional reports and dashboards.A solid understanding of report design, usability, visual hierarchy, and information design.Practical experience with DAX and common reporting patterns such as time intelligence, ratios, variances, and YTD calculations.Experience with semantic models, relationships, measures, hierarchies, and dimensional modelling.Good knowledge of star schemas and Kimball fundamentals.Solid practical SQL skills for querying, validation, and troubleshooting.Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and an understanding of workspace permissions and access principles. The ability to investigate incorrect or unexpected results and explain the underlying logic clearly. In addition to your technical expertise, you are comfortable working directly with the business:You can actively gather and clarify business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions. You are comfortable challenging or refining requirements when needed. You understand what information stakeholders need in order to make better decisions. You can communicate complex data and insights clearly to a non-technical audience. You are confident running demos, facilitating feedback sessions, and working iteratively. We are not looking for a primarily functional or business profile that happens to use Power BI. The foundation of this role is strong Power BI development expertise. Your business understanding and communication skills enable you to turn that technical expertise into reporting solutions that create real impact.Tools & TechnologiesExperience with the following tools is required or strongly preferred:Power BI Desktop, including Model View and Performance AnalyzerDAXSQLDAX StudioTabular EditorCloud databases such as SnowflakeNice to HaveExperience with one or more of the following is considered a plus:SAP / S/4HANASnowflakeGit / GitHub for versioning Power BI assetsMicrosoft FabricFabric deployment pipelines and workspace managementFabric governance, security, and compliance conceptsFabric Notebooks for data exploration or validationWhy This Role? You will work in an environment where Power BI is more than a visualization tool. Reporting is used to provide business insight, identify exceptions and trends, and support better decision-making.You will have the opportunity to build technically strong Power BI solutions while working directly with the people who use them. This means you will not only see what you build, but also understand the impact it has on the business.
