Power BI Developer

4-6 years of experience in Power BI development, SQL development, data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence. Primary Skills: 1.Power BI 2.SQL Server 3.SSIS 4.DAX 5.Power Query (M)Role purpose: The Senior Data / Power BI Developer will design, build, and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, data models, SQL queries, and SSIS data integration processes that support accurate, timely decision-making for the business and its clients. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Develop interactive and user-friendly Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations. 2.Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements, clarify success criteria, and translate them into reliable technical solutions. 3. Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis. 4.Develop eAicient Power BI data models, including relationships, calculated columns, measures, and hierarchies. 5. Create and optimize DAX measures and calculations. 6. Connect Power BI to SQL databases, APIs, Excel files, SSIS outputs, and other enterprise data sources. 7.Perform data cleansing, transformation, and integration using Power Query / M for report-level preparation and SSIS for scheduled ETL processes where required. 8.Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, integration, and scheduled data loads. 9.Ensure data accuracy by performing reconciliation and validation between source systems and reports. 10.Optimise Power BI reports and SQL queries for performance and scalability. 11.Implement appropriate security and access controls, including Power BI Row-Level Security where required. 12.Troubleshoot report, data, refresh, and performance issues. 13.Manage scheduled data refreshes, monitor report and data pipeline health, and investigate refresh failures across Power BI and SSIS processes. 14.Work with developers, database teams, and business users to resolve data-related issues. 15. Maintain technical documentation for data models, reports, SQL queries, SSIS packages, and BI solutions. 16.Follow established development, testing, release, and documentation processes. Required Skills Power BI 1.Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. 2.Strong knowledge of DAX and Power Query. 3.Experience developing complex dashboards and executive-level reports. 4.Good understanding of Power BI data modelling and visualization best practices. 5.Experience with report performance optimization and Row-Level Security. SQL 1.Strong proficiency in SQL Server and relational database development, including: 2.Complex joins 3.Subqueries and CTEs 4.Window functions 5.Aggregations 6.Views and stored procedures 7.Query optimization and performance tuning 8.Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures 9.Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), including package development, control flow, data flow, error handling, logging, deployment, and job scheduling.
