Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking a Power BI Developer to help build and scale enterprise Trial Analytics across a global clinical trial portfolio. This role sits within the business (Project Finance & Analytics) and partners closely with Data Engineering and Corporate IT to deliver decision-ready insights for clinical operations, finance, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate blends strong technical BI capabilities with an ability to work closely with clinical operations, project finance, and project management stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.This position works at the center of operational and financial transparency—supporting CTMS‑derived trial metrics, ERP‑based financial performance, and cross‑functional KPI reporting. The focus of this role is semantic modeling, KPI standardization, and analytics performance, not source system ingestion or ad hoc report building.Business Analysis & CollaborationWork closely with Trial Operations, Project Finance, and Project Managers to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutionsServe as the subject‑matter expert on metric definitions, business rules, and reporting logicProvide insights and recommendations based on trend visualization and dashboard usagePower BI & Semantic ModelingDesign, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, including DAX measures, KPIs, hierarchies, and table relationshipsBuild reusable, governed DAX measures aligned to approved KPI definitionsImplement calculation groups, time intelligence, and standardized metric logicOptimize data models for performance, scalability, and refresh efficiencyEnsure all metrics reflect correct business logic, including enrollment rules, milestone definitions, revenue calculations, and project financial structuresTrial & Portfolio AnalyticsTranslate business-defined KPIs into scalable analytical logicSupport analytics across:Trial execution & deliveryPortfolio health and riskFinancial performance and marginMilestones, enrollment, and operational cadenceEnsure metrics roll consistently from trial → program → portfolioGovernance & CollaborationPartner with Data Engineering to ensure analytics-ready data structures and consistent grain, validate dataset readiness, and report on data discrepanciesAlign with Corporate IT / Data Warehouse teams on data contracts and refresh schedulesValidate metrics with Finance, Clinical Operations, and Business Operations stakeholdersDocument datasets, measures, and assumptions for transparency and reuseImplement and maintain row-level security (RLS), workspace permissions, and dataset access controlsManage versioning, QA testing, and deployment of dashboards across environmentsEnsure alignment with internal data governance and compliance standardsEnablement & ScaleDevelop certified datasets to enable self-service analytics across the organizationReduce ad hoc reporting by standardizing core analytics viewsContribute to analytics standards and best practices across the businessProvide training, documentation, and support to functional teams using Power BI dashboardsPromote BI best practices across teams and encourage responsible data consumptionWhat This Role Is NotNot responsible for ETL or source system ingestionNot a report factory for one-off trial requestsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Finance, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)3-5 years of experience developing enterprise Power BI solutionsStrong expertise in:DAX, including complex measures and time intelligencePower BI semantic modelingPower Query (M) for light transformationsSQL (for validation and analysis)Strong experience with data modeling (star schema, grain management)Experience building analytics for executive and operational audiencesExperience working with operational or financial datasetsAbility to translate business logic into clear analytical modelsKnowledge of data visualization best practices and optimization techniquesPreferred QualificationsExperience in clinical trials, CROs, or life sciences and with clinical trial operations datasets (CTMS, enrollment tracking, subject visit structures)Exposure to financial or operational analytics, including ERP financial datasets (actuals, budgets, revenue recognition, WIP, invoicing)Experience working with centralized data warehouse teamsFamiliarity with Power BI performance tuning and capacity considerationsFamiliarity with Azure data tools and the Power BI Service (workspaces, gateways, datasets)Experience working within professional services, life sciences, or project‑based environmentsKey CompetenciesStrong analytical judgment and attention to detailComfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsAbility to translate business questions into scalable analytical solutionsCollaborative mindset with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilitiesAbility to manage multiple dashboards and competing deadlinesComfortable working cross‑functionally with Data Engineering, Finance, and Trial OperationsAny data provided as a part of this application will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
