قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجJob Description – Power Electronics Engineer (UPS, VFD & Industrial Power Systems)Location: Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAEProject: ADNOC Refining – Specialist Electrical Services for Critical EquipmentIndustry: Oil & Gas / Refinery / Power UtilitiesJob PurposeWe are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to provide specialist engineering support for UPS systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), rectifiers, converters, battery systems, and associated power electronic equipment across ADNOC Refining facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, condition monitoring, reliability improvement, testing, commissioning, and lifecycle management of critical power electronic systems supporting refinery operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of AC/DC UPS systems, VFDs, rectifiers, converters, battery chargers, and industrial power electronic equipment.Carry out installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of power electronic systems.Conduct condition monitoring, performance assessments, and health checks to improve equipment reliability and availability.Monitor system performance, including:UPS load currentsBattery health and discharge testsRectifier and charger performanceHarmonic measurementsFilter circuit performanceCapacitor and choke conditionPerform battery testing, float current measurements, and battery capacity assessments in accordance with OEM recommendations.Support major shutdowns by executing component replacement, overhauls, upgrades, and end-of-life equipment replacement.Troubleshoot failures involving UPS systems, VFDs, rectifiers, converters, and power quality issues while minimizing operational downtime.Review electrical incidents, equipment failures, and abnormal events, prepare technical reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.Monitor spare parts inventory and support procurement planning for critical power electronic components.Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation, and Reliability teams to improve system performance.Provide emergency technical support during equipment failures and plant shutdowns.Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements, IEC, IEEE, and OEM standards.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics Engineering.Minimum 15 years of experience in UPS systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), rectifiers, converters, battery systems, and industrial power electronic equipment within the oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or utility industries.Hands-on experience with major OEMs such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Gutor, AEG, CEG, Chloride, Allen-Bradley, Vacon, or equivalent.Strong knowledge of:Industrial AC/DC UPS systemsVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Soft StartersRectifiers and Battery ChargersPower Converters and InvertersActive & Passive Harmonic FiltersBattery Management SystemsPower Quality and Harmonic AnalysisExperience using OEM diagnostic software and power quality analyzers.Familiarity with SAP PM/EAM or equivalent maintenance management systems is preferred.Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, ADNOC electrical standards, and HSE procedures.Preferred ExperienceExperience supporting ADNOC or other major Oil & Gas operators.Proven experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or power generation facilities.Experience in brownfield projects, shutdowns, and live plant maintenance.Knowledge of electrical reliability improvement programs and lifecycle management of critical power electronic assets.CompetenciesPower Electronics EngineeringUPS SystemsVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Rectifiers & ConvertersBattery Systems & ChargersHarmonic Analysis & Power QualityTroubleshooting & Fault DiagnosisCondition MonitoringTechnical ReportingHSE ComplianceTeamwork & Communication
