Responsibilities

Development of Predictive Models & Trading Strategy: Designs and implements advanced models (fundamental & quantitative) for price and volatility forecasting, as well as scenario analysis, converting data into actionable trading, hedging, and portfolio optimisation strategies on the liquid part of the curve.Market Trend Analysis for Trading & Hedging: Leverages and contributes to the assessment of medium- to long-term market trends, such as RES penetration, storage, interconnections, capture rates, and spark/dark spreads, in collaboration with the Group’s analysis and strategy teams. Focuses on assessing the impact of these trends on price formation, the trading book, hedging strategy, and commercial portfolio optimisation.Leadership & Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Leads the Power Markets Analysis & Trading Strategy team, ensuring its effective guidance and development. Collaborates closely with the Trading, Risk, and Portfolio Management teams to ensure the operational alignment of the commercial strategy.Commercial Intelligence & Reporting to Management: Translates market dynamics into specialised commercial intelligence reports, focusing on the implications for trading positions, hedging, volatility, liquidity, risk management, and portfolio optimisation, providing the Energy Trading Management with the necessary insight for commercial decision-making.Regulatory Framework Commercial Impact Assessment: Monitors and evaluates developments in the regulatory and compliance frameworks of energy markets (market rules, REMIT, ACER), focusing exclusively on their direct impact on commercial activities, trading flows, and risk hedging, in collaboration with the Group's regulatory affairs team.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a Greek or foreign university, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a Bachelor of Science.A Master’s degree in one of the following fields will be an asset: Power Systems, Energy Economics, Energy Finance, Quantitative Finance, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or an MBA.At least eight (8) years of proven professional experience in one or more of the following areas, including at least two (2) years in a leadership role with team management responsibilities:in a role directly related to electricity market analysis, preferably within a trading company or an electricity generator, orin electricity market fundamentals analysis to shape trading strategies, orin the application of quantitative methods to translate market analysis into actionable commercial trading and risk management strategies.Experience or direct involvement in financial power trading, including derivatives and hedging instruments will be an asset.Experience in the energy sector will be an asset.Knowledge of European power markets, experience in analysing power market fundamentals, and the ability to leverage quantitative methods to develop profitable trading strategies, as well as solid understanding of the regulatory environment (ACER, ENTSO-E, REMIT, market codes) will be an asset.Proficiency in analytical tools (Python, R, MATLAB, Excel/VBA) and experience with visualisation & reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) will be an asset.Role Soft Skills:Accountability and Result OrientationProblem Solving and Decision MakingUnderstanding of the business environmentEffective Team ManagementNegotiation & Influencing skillsChange Management
