Looking for a PhD candidate to apply for an FPU 2026 fellowship — Liver Cancer ResearchThe Mitochondrial Regulation of Cell Death group at IDIBAPS-IIBB-CSIC (Barcelona) is looking for a candidate to apply, together with us, for a 4-year FPU predoctoral fellowship (2026 call, Spanish Ministry).🌍 About the researchUncovering new metabolic pathways driving the progression from non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Mouse models, primary hepatocyte isolation and mitochondrial function analysis.🎓 Who we are looking forBSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Pharmacy or related field, plus an MSc completed or ongoing (2026/27).A strong academic record — this is the main scoring criterion in the FPU call.Genuine interest in experimental research and teamwork.B2–C1 English.⭐ A plus (not required)Animal handling accreditation (functions a, b, c).Previous experience with in vitro and in vivo cancer models.💼 What the fellowship offers4-year predoctoral contract funded by the Ministry, with the salary set by the national FPU programme.Thesis supervision, a funded project from day one, and our support in preparing a competitive application.📅 Deadline: the FPU 2026 application window runs from 20 October to 12 November 2026 (14:00 CET).
