Apply & track with Apply EdgePresidentWho we're hoping finds thisSomeone who has built something. Maybe you founded a company and ran it. Maybe you were employee number three somewhere small and ended up owning far more than your title said. Either way you know what it's like when there's nobody to hand the work to.And maybe you've reached the point where you don't want to carry the whole thing alone anymore. You want to build something meaningful, with real ownership in it, next to a founder you respect, without being the one who has to have every answer. That's this seat, and it's a genuinely good one. We're looking for someone exceptional and a little bit interesting. Not a resume that checks boxes. The companyA profitable, founder-led, venture-backed consumer technology company between Austin, San Antonio and Houston. On track to clear $10M this year with a credible path to $50M as the software platform and product line scale. They make a purpose-built consumer device with a software layer on top of it. The point of the product is to put technology back in its place so families can get their attention back. The company is profitable by design and reinvests every dollar into that idea instead of chasing growth for its own sake. The people who do well here came for that. If it reads to you as a nice detail rather than the reason, this won't be the right fit.The seatYou'd be the founder's only direct report, with four leaders under you: marketing and PR, operations, finance and accounting, and engineering and AI. The team is strong and already runs a mature weekly L10 cadence. You'd set the pace at the top of it.The CEO holds the strategy. You own what happens after the decision, and he has named that as the single most important outcome of this role. About 80% of the job is execution:Projects move without him stepping in to drive speed. Within six months, that gap is closed.External partners hit their dates. Manufacturing, distribution, software, regulatory and banking either deliver or get replaced, and you make that call. The operating rhythms run on you. Weekly L10s, monthly finance, quarterly planning, and the analysis behind which bet gets funded next.Non-negotiableProduct, SaaS or launches. You've built or shipped something real. A physical consumer product is the closest match, and strong SaaS with genuine product depth works just as well. Someone who has run launches and knows why they slip is exactly right.Cross-functional ownership. You've run operations, product, marketing and finance at the same time, not one lane at a time. You're good being the number two. The founder is staying. This is the seat next to him, not a path to his chair, and we want someone who reads that as the appeal rather than the catch.On-site in Shiner, Texas two days a week. Which means living within about two hours: Austin, San Antonio, Houston, or the corridor between them.NegotiableYour title. President, GM, COO, Integrator, Head of Ops, VP of Ops, Chief of Staff, founder, owner. We care what you ran, not what it was called.Your industry. Consumer hardware is the closest fit, not a requirement.Where you came from. Bootstrapped, PE-backed, venture-backed, or a company you bought yourself through a search fund. If you came up through finance and then ran well past it, we want to hear from you.The shape of your comp. Total compensation moves on a sliding scale of base, bonus and equity, calibrated to your risk profile and where you are in life. More base means fewer options, and the reverse. The company has bought back vested shares from former operators several times, so the equity carries real internal value, and the horizon to a target liquidity event is roughly three years. How to applySend a resume and answer a couple of quick questions.
