Job Description – Manager – Ocean PricingLocation: GandhidhamJob SummaryThe Ocean Export Pricing is responsible for procuring competitive ocean freight rates, preparing accurate quotations, supporting the sales team, and maintaining strong relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents, and vendors. The role requires a sound understanding of international freight forwarding, Incoterms, and ocean export operations to ensure timely and profitable pricing solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesObtain competitive freight rates from shipping lines, NVOCCs, co-loaders, transporters, and overseas agents.Prepare and submit timely and accurate quotations for FCL, LCL, Breakbulk, and Special Equipment shipments.Coordinate with the Sales team to provide pricing support for new business opportunities and existing customers.Negotiate freight rates, surcharges, and service terms with carriers and vendors.Handle RFQs, tenders, and spot pricing requests within the defined turnaround time.Maintain and update freight tariffs, carrier contracts, and pricing databases.Monitor market trends, freight rate fluctuations, and competitor pricing.Ensure all quotations meet company profitability and margin objectives.Coordinate with Operations and Customer Service teams for smooth shipment execution after booking confirmation.Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, and logistics partners.Resolve pricing-related queries from customers and internal stakeholders.Prepare MIS reports, pricing analysis, and monthly performance reports.Ensure compliance with company policies, international trade regulations, and customer requirements.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of Ocean Export Freight Forwarding.Good understanding of Incoterms, shipping documentation, FCL/LCL operations, and international trade.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Strong analytical and commercial acumen.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and freight forwarding software.Ability to work under pressure and meet quotation turnaround timelines.Good coordination and relationship management skills.QualificationBachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Experience6-8 years of experience in Ocean Export Pricing within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.
