Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe Primary Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the academic and administrative functioning of the Primary Section, ensuring effective curriculum implementation, teacher support, student development, assessment practices, and communication among teachers, parents, and school leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic CoordinationCoordinate curriculum planning and implementation for Grades 1–5.Monitor lesson plans, session plans, worksheets, and teaching resources.Ensure timely completion of syllabus as per the academic calendar.Coordinate revision, assessments, examinations, and remedial/enrichment programmes.Promote activity-based, experiential, and competency-based learning.Monitor integration of technology and digital learning platforms.2. Teacher Support & MonitoringConduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment strategies.Conduct departmental/grade-level meetings and maintain minutes.Organise micro-teaching, peer learning, and professional development sessions.Identify teachers' training needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.3. Student DevelopmentMonitor students' academic progress and classroom participation.Identify learning gaps and coordinate remedial support.Encourage reading, communication skills, creativity, collaboration, and holistic development.Monitor student behaviour, attendance, and general well-being in coordination with class teachers.4. Assessment & Data AnalysisReview assessment papers, worksheets, question papers, and answer keys.Analyse examination/RCT results and identify learning gaps.Coordinate preparation of action plans based on assessment data.Monitor implementation of remedial and enrichment strategies.5. Parent & School CoordinationAct as a communication link between the Primary Section and school leadership.Coordinate parent-teacher meetings and address academic concerns.Communicate important academic instructions and deadlines to teachers.Work collaboratively with other coordinators and departments.6. Events & ActivitiesCoordinate primary-school assemblies, competitions, celebrations, literary activities, field trips, and special programmes.Ensure activities are aligned with learning objectives and the school's academic vision.Coordinate interdisciplinary and experiential learning initiatives.7. Documentation & AdministrationMaintain records of syllabus completion, observations, assessments, meetings, and interventions.Prepare academic reports and presentations for school leadership.Ensure compliance with school policies, academic timelines, and documentation requirements.Key Skills Required:Strong academic and curriculum-planning skillsLeadership and team-management abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsClassroom observation and mentoring skillsAssessment and data-analysis skillsProblem-solving and decision-making abilitiesGood documentation and organisational skillsFamiliarity with NEP 2020, competency-based education, experiential learning, and digital learning toolsTypical QualificationsBachelor's/Master's degree in Education or a relevant subjectB.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualificationRelevant teaching experience, preferably in the Primary SectionPrior experience in a coordination/leadership role is an advantage
