Backed by leading investors and experiencing significant growth, they're investing heavily in their engineering organisation to scale the next generation of their platformAs a Principal Backend Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across several engineering teams, driving architectural decisions, mentoring senior engineers, and helping define engineering best practices across the organisationWhat You'll Be Doing:Design and evolve highly scalable, cloud-native backend systemsDrive engineering standards across modern Java technologies, distributed systems and clean architectural principlesCollaborate with Product, Platform and Engineering leadership to shape technical strategyLead cross-functional initiatives and mentor senior engineers across multiple teamsWhat We're Looking For:8+ years building and operating large-scale backend systems in productionExperience working at Staff or Principal Engineer levelStrong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and event-driven architecturesExperience designing distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resilience and performance Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes
