Principal Data Scientist Salary: Up to £140k + bonus & equity Location: London (3x per week)I'm partnering with one of the UK's fastest-growing AI-driven consumer technology businesses on a pivotal Principal Data Scientist hire. This is an opportunity to lead the technical direction of machine learning and Generative AI across one of the company's most business-critical domains, helping build the next generation of intelligent decisioning systems used by millions of customers.What you'll be doingLead the technical direction for ML and GenAI within a high-impact fraud and risk function.Design and deploy production machine learning and LLM systems that drive intelligent automation.Shape scalable model architecture, feedback loops, monitoring and evaluation frameworks.Partner with Product and Engineering to solve ambiguous, system-level problems.Champion statistical rigour, experimentation and robust decision-making across the business.Mentor senior data scientists and influence engineering best practice without being a people manager.What we're looking forSignificant experience delivering end-to-end ML systems into production.Proven experience building Generative AI / LLM applications beyond prototype stage.Strong background in fraud, risk, credit, insurance or another regulated decisioning environment.Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive technical strategy across cross-functional teams.Systems thinker who enjoys solving complex product and engineering challenges.If you're a Staff or Principal Data Scientist looking to combine ML, GenAI and technical leadership in a business where AI is central to the product, I'd be happy to tell you more.E- daniel@cognifysearch.com
