Principal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our brokerage systems. You will work closely with our engineering team and other stakeholders to create scalable, low latency, and highly available trading systems.What You’ll DoResponsible for the technical architecture, design and delivery of high performance, low-latency brokerage systems using Java/GolangAssesses the health and performance of software applications and databases and provides software and technology solutionsDesign, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices.Work with the Broker Dealer Operations teams to support and enhance the trading and backend system for multiple asset classes like Equities, Options, Mutual Funds etcDefine specifications and develops components, modifies existing software stack, prepare test data, and prepares functional specificationsAnalyze Service and application performance using various programminglanguages, tools and techniquesDevelop and maintain automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelinesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering teamProvide guidance to non-technical staff in using software and hardware systems most effectively and efficientlySupport applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshootingYou BringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experienceAt least 10 years of experience in Software Engineering with expertise in JavaMust understand Test Driven Development and how to write effective unit/integration testsStrong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing frameworksProficient in developing and maintaining robust REST APIs and implementing sophisticated event-driven architectures with Kafka and KubernetesBackground in financial technology or capital markets is requiredProficient in No SQL, SQL and Stored Procedures such as in Postgres, MySQLExperience with Unix, Linux Operating SystemsKnowledge of Jira, Git, JenkinsExperience with a 24x7, highly-available architectureStrong experience with Amazon Web ServicesExperience with Scrum and other Agile processesStrong communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSpecial Knowledge (Nice to Have, But Not Required)Experience with Amazon Web ServicesExperience with Linux and writing scripts to extract and transform dataMultiple years experience in fin-tech specifically Post Trade, Payment or SaaS
