Principal Firmware Engineer

Job Function, Roles & Responsibilities:● Able to execute & technically lead multiple projects at the same time● Lead a team of 4 – 5 engineers● Customer front-facing with excellent communication and value addition.● Hands-on programming/coding and debugging● Continuous development of the team to serve customer requirements in a faster & efficient way● Fit for onsite assignments (USA, Europe and India)● Project requirement understanding, effort estimation, and project proposal.● Ability to build and mentor teams● Openness to work on various technologies● Full knowledge of the entire SDLC - Requirement, Design, Development, Reviews, Testing, Deployment, Bug Fixing● Review & Documentation - PRS, Design, Test Plan/Test Cases● On-Time & Quality deliverables● New Candidate Interview and evaluationArea of expertise:● Proficiency in programming languages such as embedded C and assembly language● Strong experience with embedded operating systems such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Zephyr, Green Hills Integrity etc.● Strong expertise in microcontroller programming without operating systems (bare metal programming)● Expertise and working experience in protocols like Zigbee, TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, HTTP, RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, CAN,GSM, GPRS● Cloud interfacing will be an added advantage. Interfacing with cloud like AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM, Watson, Aylacloud, Everything cloud● Strong project execution track record with controllers like PIC, ST, Atmel, Renesas, and TI● Experience with architectures like ARM series processors, Cortex-A series, and other general-purposemicrocontrollers● Debugging software issues over Microcontroller using real-time debugging tools like JTAG, and J-Link● Strong Application development work in User space API development, middleware libraries development, andsystem calls● Experience with tools such as Logic Analyzer and Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO) will be an added advantage● BSP, NDK and SDK prior work done shall be an added advantage● The ability to understand hardware schematics will be an added advantage● Hands-on experience in Industrial IoT, medical, power domain, automotive, and home automation products

Technical Skills

MUST have:● Programming Languages: C, Cpp and Python, Assembly● OOPS Programming languages, data structure, and design pattern – C++● Strong project execution track record with controllers like PIC, ST, Atmel, and TI● Hands-on with application and low-level device driver development on microcontrollers running RTOS● Understanding of data acquisition systems with sensor interfaces● Knowledge of Interfaces: PCIE, USB, I2C, SPI, MDIO● Hardware schematics understanding, peripherals debugging, and board bring-up● Debugging tools: logic analyzer, digital oscilloscope, JTAG, KGDB, JDB, and J-Link● Experience with embedded operating systems FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Zephyr, Green Hills Integrity etc.● Knowledge of Interfaces: CAN, HTTP, MQTT, Rest API● Network Protocols: Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, Thread, WiFi-802.11, BLE● Cloud communication: AWS or Azure or customer cloudNICE to have:● Expertise in at least one technology Wi-Fi/ audio/video/display/Camera.● Understanding of any Industrial protocols like Ethernet, and Modbus.Soft Skills:● Direct customer (US or Europe-based) interactions for delivery management● Write high-quality, efficient, extensible, and maintainable code in a fast-paced Agile environment.● Participate in feature and design discussions within and across teams● Evangelize and inform with well-written design documents and conduct peer reviews● Review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems live on some of themost innovative IoT devices.● Excellent written and verbal communication
