As a Principal Optomechanical Engineer at ASMPT, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the semiconductor industry through Advanced Packaging technology. This innovative technology enables ultra-precise integration of semiconductor dies for cost-effective, high-performance designs. At ASMPT, we are at the forefront of developing next-generation Advanced Packaging machines that meet demanding placement accuracy and throughput requirements.In this role, you will focus on developing cutting-edge optics and optomechanical solutions for machine alignment, vision systems, and inspection processes. You will balance individual technical contributions with collaboration across various domains, driving breakthrough designs in semiconductor equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop innovative optomechanical concepts for alignment, vision, and inspection systems in Advanced Packaging machinesCollaborate with domain experts to conduct simulations and optimize machine performanceDesign and realize optomechanical machine modules in partnership with external engineering teamsLead testing and integration of prototypes and initial production series, ensuring performance specifications are metAddress challenges related to balancing accuracy and throughput in optical alignment strategiesMake critical decisions on optical system parameters to optimize performance within spatial constraintsCollaborate with global teams across Beuningen, Singapore, and Hong Kong to drive cutting-edge semiconductor solutionsEngage with internal teams and external partners to leverage expertise and enhance project outcomesOccasional international travel to collaborate with product development centres in Asia and development partners in EuropeTHIS IS YOUMSc in a relevant technical field (e.g., Optomechanics, Optical Engineering)10+ years of experience in optomechanical developments for high-tech machine building, ideally in the semiconductor industryProven expertise in optical design (e.g., Zemax), CAD software, and FEM anylisisExperience with high-precision industrial machine design, including metrology and alignment systemsMultidisciplinary thinker with strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across domains such as mechatronics and real-time controlFluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plusWE OFFERA full-time position (32 - 40 hours per week) at an international high-tech company, where innovation and manufacturing solutions are keyAn attractive salary aligned with your knowledge, skills, and experienceExcellent employee benefits like travel allowance, a bicycle scheme and a premium pension schemeOpportunities for personal and professional growth through training and development programsA dynamic, collaborative work environment with friendly colleagues and exciting, multidisciplinary projects25 vacation days and 3 additional days offWe provide all the necessary hardware and software, including a laptop and phone, to ensure you have everything you need to succeedWe like to think that we are fun to work with.
